As Friday soon approaches, the weekend adventure draws near, and what lay in store can only be guessed by those with precognition...and an agenda. This weekend I will be going to Salina, KS to fly in a small aircraft. I will also be sitting behind the controls of the Cessna for part of the time. THIS IS THE FIRST FIELD TRIP I WILL HAVE GONE ON SINCE MIDDLE SCHOOl! w00t!!!! I will also be going to Hutchinson Kansas to the cosmosphere that is there! I am going with my aerospace class and I have to find a pocket protector before saturday. Oh yeah, I need tape to put around the bridge of my glasses, too.
Ryan Shaffer: coming soon to an Omaha near you. One of my floormates will be having a concert in Omaha (at the Rock), so I will be coming back with him and he and his band will most likely be staying at my house. I think it's the 29th or something like that, but I'm not exactly sure. Brandon Bone, this is for you: the band is called The Raging Hormones, and it is a ska band; you can check it out if you want. There is a slight possibility that I might not come since it is Halloween weekend which brings me to my next topic of conversation.
I need a Halloween costume idea. I have a good idea of what I want to be, but if somebody can throw out an incredible idea, I am all ears.
Overall, life is great and I wish everybody the best of luck for the weekend. ;)
For those of you who don't know, Adam Wojtalewicz took his own life today. He was a senior at Westside high school.
I didn't know Adam (Wojo as his friends and acquantances call him) too well, but I did play tennis with him once, and on a couple occasions, he was in the group I went out with for the night. I would, on occasion, say hi to him in the hallway as well. Hearing of his suicide was incredibly shocking and hard to believe.
Adam, even though you cannot read this, your pain is felt by many, and I feel deeply sorry that there was not some way those who knew you could help to stop you from taking your own life.
My condolences go out to adam's family and those who loved and/or cared for him. I can certainly say that I did not want to see him go.
With deep respect,
Ryan
Well, it is Wednesday, thus hump day. Speaking of which, the Kansan, the KU newspaper had a special section in the newspaper about butt waxing and sex toys and all those sexy and often taboo subjects. I thought it was pretty cool seeing that in a newspaper. But then again, it is a college newspaper, and it is liberal lawrence. I'm sure you all are going to say how your college newspapers have the same things in them, but I thought it was cool coming from an oppressive high school when it comes to censorship.
As I alluded to in the title, the Kansas Jayhawks currently have a better record than the Nebraska Cornhuskers. That is the coolest thing ever. Ok, now don't rain on my parade by saying the 'hawks have played easier teams. It doesn't matter. Just look at the numbers and you will see that Jayhawks are just superior to Huskers in every sport including women's rowing!
Currently I am blogging to put off the inevitable agony of doing an online chemistry assignment, but I will have to get to it sometime, so I will not stall much longer. Chem 184 has to be the easiest class in the world, and I have only gone to three or four of the lectures all year. Booya!
I must leave you now, but just keep this in mind: If you go to a party and can't find your way back to your residence, it's okay, just pass out and you will be able to ask for directions in the morning (or afternoon) when there are more people around.
