big things
when someone brings to your attention in a public context whether "are you going to put this on wandyteeth?", it is your obligation to do so.

Wednesday the 26th of October I helped to put on a show, Handheld (details), which turned out to be a great success. It featured 8-bit gameboy musician Bubblyfish, text message demons Family Filter, and internet sensation Improv Everywhere (featured here are Bubblyfish and Family Filter).
The part of the performance that might be best enjoyed here was Family Filter, whose piece, actually entitled SimpleText, involves the audience sending text messages. These messages then are displayed as text onscreen, in addition to being digitally spoken and graphically represented in the form of the top google image result for the words. So sending a text message that says "wandyteeth" will then return the top image for that and mr. robot will speak "wandyteeth" as hard as he can (with background music).
I am looking forward to more of these performances.

I recently saw Wolf Parade in concert (as put on by the wonderful music girls). As is often the case, I had not heard them previous to having seen them, but they were pretty fantastic. Additionally, David Cross was backstage and that was all a good time.

In the furthering of cooking experiments, I was part of a collaborative food making environment the other day. Featured were culinary illuminatis Eli, Mike, Madeline, Christina. We made mom sized portions.
Additionally, as has been wont to do, there was a freestyle session. It is an occurence I appreciate more and more, though needless to say I am not the flyest guy on the mic. I'm getting there. Featured in battle here are Eli and Mike. My key to success? Mispronunciation of words, followed by a line along the lines of "yeah thats right, mispronunciation," thereby allowing me all of the words that end in -ation.

my solipsism du jour is the begging of hair-cutting related questions, because I have really long hair. I haven't yet brought it up to my haircut t-shirt, but it probably rivals previous length records.
I am going to redesign a lot of things around here as soon as I can. I am enjoying myself a lot more at the end of this month than I was at the beginning. Joel asks the question, via a class of his in which it was discussed, are blogs vapid?
guess who came to visit this last weekend???
here is a rather unadulterated pictoral view, with only a few words for context

oh and it was a surprise visit. friends are my favorite!
I recently passed my 19th birthday, with some fanfare, mostly digital. What I did do was fun, and I had a wonderful cake made by friends, whose frosting text inadvertently predicted my death at age 39. That blog will have to wait a while I guess.
Two other significant events have passed recently. A revue, shall we?
Significantly, I washed a load of my laundry with an inky pen in it. The great clothes disaster of late 2005, not dissimilar to that of early 2005. Now on all of my shorts and some of my good shirts I have written testament to the staying power of pen ink (and reason to buy some new clothes or something). I still hate pencils
An event a long time in coming passed the day after my birthday, which is to say I went to a beck concert. this significance of this is hard to grasp even afterwards, but it was fantastic.
he played nearly every song that should have been played, but I am not choosy since I like them all.

did you know my favorite song of all time is "Where it's At"?

There were a billion genius moments; during the song Clap Hands, the band played kitchen utensils at a dinner table.
it was a jamboree of immense proportions. I can now die happy. and I am not abashed of my hero worshiping.
