the craft

I am now five or so days into something called the two week fiber challenge. The back of the frosted mini wheats box advertised that I would "Feel the difference!" in two weeks of eating a bowl of frosted mini wheats once a day (I guess it's really fibrous). Vague advertising promises like these are hard to find, so I couldn't pass it up.
And it stands to end on my birthday, so I am sure I will receive a fantastic present.

Reckoning with one's appreciation or celebration of celebrities is a difficult thing. I think it is one of the more complicated questions of our time. I am not really shamed to admit the degree to which I accrue magical powers to anyone showing up on the movie screen, although undoubtedly many people take a third person "celebrity culture is so sick," stance on it. unfortunately, I have the painful third-third-person position of knowing that any opinion is unfortunately contrived and derived, and you could argue that there is a culture of celebrity hating culture, with its own rules and conceptions of fame. with that said:

deniro! (I apologize for the bad lighting)

damon!!!

and as is related to my own filmic evolution, I have now begun to shoot 16mm film. I shot a waldo short recently, it is a very gratifying experience.

I have several remaindered ideas, either for review or for a future date:
-a way for the world to see the projects I am currently working on, for personal and exhibitionist benefit. plus, having others see all the things (non academic) you need to do has the effect of making you accountable.
-coming up with good ideas
-I have a treatise waiting in my butt on weather psychology. reason being, to interest anyone: I feel like the only emotional associations I have ever seen with weather are incredibly binary, and now I have a lot of opinions on the subject, so if that makes sense I would like to establish multiple causalities with patterns other than just raining makes you sad.
-I have a lot of games to play before it gets cold
-new music new movies read and produced

I apologize if this wasn't creative

cold cola cans

an adventure had recently was with Jason C. we were both in desperate need of a spectacle, and I had recently drawn this, on my arm:

we decided there was a desperate need for non-permanent markered tattoos (not to be confused with "temporary tattoos," typically plasticine and found in 25 cent dispensers). an event similar in methodology to the kissing booth, but this time involving free tattoos, and a much weirder general population

the danger of offering anything for free, or using a sign to advertise free services in New York, is that you end up looking like a panhandler

in terms of techniques learned, it is good to maintain eye contact with potential pseudo-customers, but shouting generally scares people off because they are trained to avoid that sort of thing. there are no clever responses to "why are you doing this?" because most people who ask that question are not generally looking to be entertained. the designs we offered included elephants, your favorite state, your name and mom hearts.

people did come around to enlisting our sharpie services. I didn't realize this picture was risque until I saw it

I am not sure about other students in other big cities, but I am happy with any event where I get to interact with non-students. not because these interactions are valuable, but they are guaranteed to be memorable. in this case, one dude, after smiling like most passer-bys, asked us for our sharpies and got down to business on my arm

and told me to show it to my lady.

so I was left with two (fake) tattoos for the remainder of the weekend. there are not many clever things one can say to "is that a real tattoo?"

that day in particular was eventful, however, with an urban capture the flag game later (!), and seeing Eli bass it up later still.

I have several projects on hold, in a non-prioritized, un-academic, de-stressful way
-there is a growing list of books which I have yet to read
-I am set to install a dimmer switch to beef up my electromagnetic skills
-a fort will be built somewhat soon, perhaps secretly!!!, under Dave's bed
-making my scooter look like a low-rider bike
-and I need to take advantage of the wonderful weather. I don't know the word for it, emily shaffer once talked about how it cheered her up, but I am definitely one who is obsessed with the weather and talking about it in a non-boring-conversational way.

dishwashy hands

when describing my new environment, it would probably be easy to focus on big things (the TV, the streets, the pizza) but instead I am going to highlight a few little buggers that have been hiding out in my brain for a little bit

1.My Cactus
cactus
I just bought this today. It, like most plants, is easy to please and looks the part sitting in front of my Gary Wilson deal and my real proof of my fake arrest
I think the original idea came from Erica. I enjoy this little desert wanderer.

2.Contraptions
contraption
Another thing created/formulated/purchased/enacted is this little deal. It's basic purpose is to be able to fetch the remote from the TV stand and deliver it to Dave (via two pulleys and an improvised counterweight). I am not quite sure what pushed me to create this, but that is besides the point. To view it in action is to be a part of something entirely unique and utterly useless. It stems from my drawings of inventions as a child, Rube Goldberg, my father's penchant for making stuff, and this one inventions game I played on the 256 colors Mac.
The next planned device I think will dispense liquids somehow, I really am fascinated by rubber tubing. I will probably show it here.

3.Scooters/dishwashing/cooking
These are all routine things which I enjoy and do not necessarily relate to each other. I scooter to and from school, and look like a big dork doing it. But it is a lot of fun.
At home, i rarely do dishes and never cook. It is the opposite here, and I have no good explanation for that. Sorry mom.

I think I have a few real blogs that I'm engaged to, so I promise not to be as much of a stranger
