I don't seem to be able to hold on to much of anything. There are about 5 things I've managed to keep for five or more years.
1. My teddy bear
2. My Friends from High School (Andrew, Tim, Keith, Jackie, Katie (Blog Stalker), Ryan, Emily)
3. My great grandmothers gold earrings
4. My guitar
and
5. A mix CD Jackie Prine made me the summer we turned 16.
I got the guitar and the CD around my birthday (May 14) so, # 4 and 5 are a tiny bit premature. But i'm counting them.
The Mix CD, entitled, 'Depressed... sort of' is one of my most cherished possessions. I listened to it again this morning and the happy nostalgia has lifted my spirits. It perfectly embodies us at 16... driving around in neighborhoods we didn't know, windows cracked, our whole world existing in a few square miles.
