Grand Poobah.

It's pretty early and I'm waiting for usage of the bathroom pre-9:30 am class (which will eventually stretch out until 3:30 [yay for that!). Things have been progressing well over the past few days and I don't have much to complain about, especially since the homework has been mighty scarce.

The reason I'm blogging now is because, like Digital/Draconian Dave, I too peruse CNN constantly due to boredom. If you, the reader, are unawares of the furor Kanye West caused with a hilarious and most likely true rant concerning President Bush's distaste for blacks while standing next to pasty white Mike "Austin Powers" Myers on a televised NBC relief drive, look for the video clip now. It seems as if apart from Kanye, others have gotten into the act as well.

The CNN story details both Howard Dean and the Rev. Al Sharpton's sharp criticism concerning the same issues and Laura Bush's response. Yes, Laura Bush's response. Not the President's, not his overlord Dick Cheney's, but his wife. Karl Rove is a brilliant mastermind of manipulation. Not only does this move make the men look animalistic in comparison to this housewife whose husband is coming under what many will deem an unjustified attack, but it also demeans the men as the one they're attacking will not even respond, nor will his lackeys/handlers.

Furthermore, somehow, the Bush administration found a way to subtly slip into the CNN story a strategically placed picture of Laura Bush serving food to blacks affected by the hurricane. Wow! Amazing! I love objective media.

Now, as this is slowly slipping into a rant concerning Republicanism and Liberalism as well as the stranglehold the Bush administration puts invisibly upon today's main media outlets, a few things should be known.

As was discussed in a conversation with Bone 2.0 yesterday, I do not believe in protesting nor do I believe in unwarranted, small group and unorganized condemnations of George Bush. While I might find that monkey-looking freak of a man unfit to lead this country, I realize that 51% of the country rightfully voted him in this time. It's like the kids who knowingly study extra hard just to ruin the curve for everyone else. Not the test's fault. It's the assholes who take the test's fault.

I do, however, find media manipulation and pandering to the American public and the government in power appalling. Don't get me wrong, I'm not some crazy liberal, left wing freak. In fact, I'd rather hang out with a crazy, gun toting, drunk off his ass, semi-racist than some urban hipster smoking a joint talking about peace while he plays his bongos. In the end though, it doesn't matter what side of the political spectrum your ideals lie on. It should be pretty damn apparent what's right and what's wrong. And in this case, Laura Bush is wrong.

Was that a rant? I believe it was a rant. Oh well.
