crossroads

When I travel at airports, it seems more times than not, I run into someone I know. I ran into Rick MacInnes on the way to Miami, and while in Chicago during a layover between Miami and Omaha, I had the pleasure of hanging out with Josh Leuck, who was also on his way back to Omaha, just starting his Spring Break. When it was time for me to board, we said our farewells, I boarded the plane and started back into the Wired magazine I picked up in the airport newsstand. About 4 or 5 pages in I looked up and saw Kyle Woodward walking down the aisle. Crazy! A necessary mocking of SkyMall's entire collection of merchandise ensued.

Next Saturday, Eric Clapton is playing in Omaha and I couldn't be more pumped. I'm debating whether or not to pick up tickets for the Crossroads Guitar Festival in Chicago in July. I've got a free flight or two saved up and if it's anything like the 2004 event, it would be insanely good.

faint cont'd

I know I said I'd post some pictures from the Faint show, but they didn't turn out too great (I blame the cheap digital camera and the non-stop dancing). One is below and the rest are on Facebook. Pitchfork's are awesome and can be found here.

st. patrick's day

What better way to celebrate St. Patrick's Day than a hilarious news report about leprechauns?

Update: Leprechaun Story Background and an awesome leprechaun rap.

how could i forget?

This past weekend 1% Productions opened up a brand new venue, the Waiting Room Lounge. The last two nights, they've played a couple of shows to get the venue warmed up, but tonight's show, an invitation only event (tickets provided by a Mr. Brandon Bone), got the venue started off right. Flowers Forever got the sound system going, and soon after the Faint brought the 250 person capacity venue to its knees. With a solid mix of material from their last 3 albums, I can say with ease that the concert tonight was the best one I've ever been to. It was a unique experience in that I got to see one of my favorite bands in the most intimate venue they've played in at least the last 5 or 6 years, and probably their last in Omaha on the Saddle Creek record label.

So yeah, that's the reason I've had the mega-Faint playlist for the last few days. I've got a picture of the sweet handmade ticket below, and after I get back from Miami on Friday, I should have a few more pictures from the show posted.

no need to call

After a bit of tinkering, I finally got the RSS feed working so that my entries are viewable on Facebook. Previously, it was only displaying the first few sentences of the entry.

New music is up, too. Of course you'll have to visit http://www.bonetastic.com/ or http://www.wandyteeth.com/bryantsblog/ to get to that.

One more test and one presentation until the greatest and most needed spring break of my college career begins...

what the silence will scream

Hey, sorry for the half-assed last entry. I was really lazy on the snow day. Anyway, I've got new tunes up...old school FOB and new Anberlin are definitely the highlights. Anberlin should be in town pretty soon, and I hear they put on a decent live show.

I've been really digging Brad Neely's cartoons on the web. The Professor Brother's Bible History #1 is good, as are the first couple of Babycakes episodes. Check 'em out if you've got a few minutes.

In other music news I saw the Spill Canvas last Friday...they're live show is ten times better than their albums. Also, the music sidebar will become a list of the Faint favorites in the next few days, for reasons I'll elaborate on soon.

curi-uri-ous

I guess we have a snow day at UNL today. That makes for three in the last two years...I'm lovin' it.

New songs are up, too. Off for some snow day fun!
