one, two, three, jump!

One more week of school...only one more week...

The promise of summer is the only thing keeping me going.

That concert in Ames was pretty awesome. Power pop from beginning to end and completely free. I was a fan. Accordingly, I've updated the music sidebar. New stuff off the MCS release (guest vocals by Fall Out Boy and Limbeck) and a sweet band, Melee. They're a mix of Something Corporate, Maroon 5 and something else I can't put my finger on. To boot, they've got more talent than either band. Unfortunately, Perfect Mess doesn't showcase their talent as much as it does their songwriting skill, but their live show kicks ass. Travis is mellow and Zolof rocks my socks with soaring background vocals by Anthony Green.

I tried out this MovieLink service that allows users to download movies legally and play them. It's fairly inexpensive (.99-4.99 per rental), but has a clunky user interface and less than perfect picture quality. Definitely a step in the right direction for movie studios, though.

dreaming on a bed of earth

I think it's less than three weeks from now and I'll be done with my first year of college. It seems like just yesterday I was moving in and now it's almost over. How time flies.

Since summer is approaching I've been working on getting a job, I need the money and something to occupy my time. I've got a couple of internships lined up, waiting to hear back on specifics, but I should be in good hands. In other summer plan news, I should be in Chicago at least once this summer to see the Cubbies play a few games. They just fell under .500 again which pains my heart, but I, like every other Cubs fan, love to see them winning or losing.

Bone 3.0 (and maybe Bone 2.0) and I are headed to Ames next Saturday to see Motion City Soundtrack play a free show. I'm excited to see them, but I'm REALLY excited to see Zolof the Rock and Roll Destroyer, who are opening for them, play. They're two latest releases are power-pop at its finest.

Underoath w/ Hopesfall last weekend was pretty cool.

Well, roommate/rooming sign-ups are finally done. I'm rooming with Brinkman next fall, which promises to have a room set-up that will rock the faces off of anyone and everyone.

the rain is here

Well the posting of my roommate's webpage has caused quite a stir...Joe is now requiring users to register and log on to view his content. Since I don't think the popularity of his web entity is great enough to garner a listing on BugMeNot, I'll fill you in. (As if anyone really cared...)

A person who'll remain anonymous informed me that they were posting vulgar comments and insults on his site and at least one other person had done the same. My intent was not to terrorize my roommate or his website, but rather point out that most bloggers on CombatRhino have far less self-centered web presences than others.

For those of you who left obscene comments in his forum without your real name, I direct you here.

make my body motion, yeah the night is young

The last few weeks have been busy and they're only looking to get busier. Four weeks in the semester and just a lot to do. It's comforting though to know that I've only got a month of school left and then summer. It'll be nice to be able to relax a little bit. When is everyone else headed home?

Updates have been few for me, but I'm looking to change that. I'm going to try and add some features that'll allow for easier updates as far as music and pictures are concerned. Right now if I add photos or music it takes wayyyy too much of my time because my page is static and the updates are all manual. That should change by June (or a few days after whenever I start working on it).

Went to the Midtown, The Academy Is, Fall Out Boy, Gym Class Heroes show last night...that was pretty awesome. The funky Gym Class Heroes/Midtown collaboration was def. the highlight of the night. Underoath is Omaha in two weeks, that'll be tough as nails...the week after that, MCS is playing a free show in Ames so me and a couple of other Bones will be making the trek.

I used to be under the impression CombatRhino was, at times, a pretty self-masturbatory site, then someone in my building showed me my roommate's page.
