December 25, 2004

you come to me at night

It's Christmas day and I'm the first one up in the Bone household, somehow waking up before David, my nine year old brother. Santa was pretty loud delivering presents and I just couldn't get back to sleep.

This year it never felt like Christmas season to me, and so today seems like it's come too early. At college I didn't have anything like a tree or a pile of presents that grew any bigger, but the minute I got home all the Christmas-type stuff was already there and with no help from me. I just wish I had more time to relish in the whole Christmas season, rather than the week or so I got.

If any of you CR bloggers or readers are big enough techno-geeks to be using RSS readers for blogs and news, Jeff has created a barebones RSS feed just for you! http://combatrhino.com/rss.xml

It better freakin' snow before I leave town so I can sled.

Sometime later this week I'll be publishing a list of things I'm excited about for this year. It'll probably be centered around CD releases that are supposed to rock and probably not much else. Maybe some New Year's resolutions, but I've never been a fan.

nothing's ever what it seems

I hate nearly all mainstream trends that come and go and there wasn't any "trend" that I hated more than the OC. Then, last night, I gave it a chance. Since, I've watch 12 episodes in 24 hours with the intent of finishing the next 15 of season one within the next few days. I'm proud to say I'm an OC bandwagon-hopper-onner.

College is winding down. Last Monday I finished a textbook for the first time in my educational career. It...was...awesome.

I'm not sure what everyone has planned for Christmas break, but I'm hoping to get to see some college people without alcohol or parties as a pretense for gathering...I didn't really get that chance over Thanksgiving break with my being out of town and all. Hopefully I'll get the chance on the second go-round.

An obligatory concert updates: Motion City Soundtrack is playing with Matchbook Romance, The Matches and From First to Last in Lawrence, KS on February 5th. I've got my ticket already and I can't wait. Also, Straylight Run is playing with Something Corporate at Sokol Underground January 18th.

Bone 2.0's softcore-porn-band has a website now and I guess I'm hosting it. Check it out, it's dece.
