without you i fold

I joined Erik and Dave J, went crazy and got a piercing. I won't lie to you, I'm pretty excited about it.

There's not much else new going on. I'm still beating life 3-0 and am looking to increase my lead. You'll be updated if the score changes.

Oh yeah, I put wireless in my room. That's kinda cool. And all I've got.

don't bother to write

Tomorrow will be the last day in my first week of classes, but it seems like I've been here much longer. In reality, I've only been in Lincoln for a week but it's already beginning to feel like home. Familiar faces and frequent out-of-town visitors are helping with this, no doubt.

I picked up my Husker football tickets two days ago and I'm extremely excited about it. Normal Husker tickets go for 50 or more a piece but student tickets are like 20 a game. W00t. I think I'm gonna get some basketball tickets, too.

This couch has put my dorm room on the Dorm Room All-Star team:

It's from about 1973 and has a pull-out bed. What more could you ask for?

love to hate, hate to me

Classes start tomorrow, it could be the end of fun in college. I doubt it though, just a change of pace from the first three days of laziness and fun.

The other night, UNL became Westide 2.0.

Last night I decided to spend inside, getting everything in my room the way I want it. I'm satisfied for now, but am sure I'll change some stuff around eventually...once Joe and I go couch shopping at the GW Boutique.

I looked out my window and saw a beautiful sight yesterday, ultimate frisbee:

all i can do is close my eyes

Finally have most of my stuff set-up and ready to go here in Lincoln. My room here is nicer than my room at home...it's a beautiful thing. I'm dreading classes though, because really, who wants to learn? Photo stuff follows:

That's my roommate's bed.

My bed.

Newly purchased TV, DVD player and sink in the background.

That's my toilet. After Chipotle for lunch, I know I'll be spending a lot of time here. A lot of time.

Last but not least, here's a bad picture of my roommate Joe. He's a sweet dude, I lucked out big time.

That's it for now. More fun blogs will come later, just had to get that one out of the way.

can we fake it? can we make believe?

I'm going to make a prediction that in the next few weeks, each college blogger will be showing the CombatRhino community and the world their dorm room and what not as an introduction to their new college lifestyle. Erik's blog very possibly could be the first of many. No complaints though, it's almost a necessity. Mine is coming tomorrow or Friday.

Motion City Soundtrack, pretty much my favorite band, came out with a new song a couple days back. I think I'm in love with that band so much that they could come out with just complete shit and I'd love it. Whatever. Needless to say I like the new song. I'll put it up soon.

The least you [or I] could do is take it back, all the vicious remarks and verbal attacks...

find comfort in yourself

Today is a purely music-oriented blog. Midtown's "Find Comfort in Yourself" is the selection. One of my favorites for a long time, it has more meaning now...it's all about making things right with yourself because that's the only thing you can control. Download, listen, rock out.

I'm over feeling sorry so just deal with that...

moving on where they'll never find me

I said I'd have a review of the Journey show along with pictures, but ran into a little snag with the camera ban at Ameristar. Good lord though, I wish I had my camera. If none of you have been to Ameristar Casino, you need to go. The crowd who finds it necessary to not only live in Council Bluffs, but also piss away their money at slot machines and craps tables is a veritable smorgasboard of mullet-bearing, five-toothed freaks.

By the way Journey was sweet, no matter what Karl says. To borrow a line from Kevin Gnapoor, it was Journey's night, they didn't let the haters stop them from doing their thang.

give me your eyebrow ring

OK so the fake Rhinostock was sweet. There, as everyone knows since everyone was there, a ton of people present. It was awesome and I think was a good fleshing out of the concept that had existed for quite some time. We need to have an official Rhinostock when erik! is in town. Doesn't seem like it'll happen though with the summer quickly ending.

Today, before I did my usual shaving I trimmed my face up like I was growing a beard, leaving everything but my dirtay neck hair. I shaved it all off though after five minutes though, realizing now wasn't a good beard growing time. I think I'll let it grow for fun when I'm in Lincoln though, it'll keep me entertained.

I'm going to see Journey tomorrow night. A shitty review of the show can be expected, maybe even pictures. My sexy, silvery Olympus hasn't been used in quite some time...

Whoa! It's 1:05...I'm going to bed. Whoops, I almost forgot, mad props to DJ J-Fizzo and his awesome tune collection at Rhinostock.

is it me? is it true?

Napoleon Dynamite, good film. See it while it is still at AMC. It's pretty much the funniest flippin' movie I've seen this year. If I had the money I'd probably see it like an effinity more times.

The new Midtown CD, Forget What You Know for the few who care is weird, awesome and incredibly depressing all at the same time. A good listen, but after I'm through the CD, I've gotta blast Living Well is the Best Revenge to feel happy again.

I'm a Windows bitch with the new computer I got. The program I'm in next year requires it though, I've got no choice.

Whoops, I talked about college...sorta.

Who saw this? It's a huge flippin' deal.

I have seen this kid in forever.

That's all I've got.
