the getaway plan

I knew today was a good day when Brandon showed me this on the back of a semi-truck:

Funny pictures from Bryan's party will be up if I still think they're funny tomorrow.

while we're making plans

Today was the official start of summer for all students in the Westside area which of course equaled fun. After a busy morning of running, mowing and my obsessive-compulsive need to clean I did a whole lot of nothing. That's right, nothing at all from 11 am to 8 pm. But it was all surprisingly fun, proving the fact that it's not what you're doing but who you're doing it with. Good lord that sounds sexual.

In celebration of the real summer and the closing in of my one-year blog anniversary (June 3rd, I believe) I updated my blog design. I like it a lot, and Jeff must like it too, because it's green.

After my extreme nothingness day we burned school work. A lot of school work. Big propz (notice the Z) to the Prines for letting us use their pit of fire. Here are the obligatory pics from the evening:

Emily sharing embarassing stories about Ryan's masturbation habits. It's OK though buddy, we all do it but not all of us have a sister so willing to share.

The fire crew going to town. To town.

Who remembers that packet Tiffany Niver made? I had a few copies left.

I don't anymore. Only kidding, only kidding. I've still got two left, the whole concept is too funny to be lost forever.

The political undertones of this are high-larious. EDIT: The top says "STRATEGIES FOR WORLD PEACE"

The evening fell apart after people wanted to start obscenely large illegal fires late at night. Kind of a good idea, but not all were down at the time. But we ran into this fool:

When it's time to party we will always party hard. This shall be my mantra for the next three months. Starting...NOW!

ahhhhhh

I'm rather disturbed by my obsession, along with the obsessions of others with the removal of body hair. Not disturbed enough to turn Joel away though when he asked if I was interested in waxing my armpits.

After intial excitement was squashed earlier in the evening, Joel and I went to Village Inn and chilled, ate a lot of food and a free pie. We were reminded of our desire to wax and so we went to Rob's house to take care of business. It's too bad we knew nothing about waxing, how much it hurt or the bleeding that was to ensue. Enjoy our unsuccessful venture.

By the way, yesterday's blog was one of my best ever in my opinion so read and comment on both, you sluts.

forever will it burn

That "I" stands for incomplete. Strange...I graduated and got my diploma with an incomplete in Calculus. Whatever.

That shirt I wanted, the mullet one...I bought it. Pretty sexy looking if you ask me:

Next year I've decided I'm going to run at UNL. It's NCAA Division I and will no doubt be the hardest thing I've ever had to do in my life. After talking with the coaches though, I think it will be possible to do this and not die. I'm ready for the challenge.

The weather this afternoon was incredible, unfortunately due to massive mud sliding I've got grossness in several places where the sun doesn't shine.

On a final note, the job search is hopeless. Nobody wants to hire a kid who is going to be gone for two and a half weeks in June. If you know anyone, and I repeat anyone who is willing to hire me for a few months, I'll do it. Just let me know. Please.

everything vanishes

Sweet day today, the first day with my digital camera. Nothing too exciting happened, but I'll attempt to entertain with pictures...

After a long and pitiful job search Shaffer, Joel and I went to get rid of Jeff's pop. Unfortunately there was way too much for any group of humans to consume, not to mention it tasted like crap. Solution? Spray it.

There was a track dinner tonight for those who qualified for state and some tag-alongs. Marc asked me to come and I told him I wasn't on the team anymore but he said to come anyways. Riff was there, and for those of you don't know, he's my hero.

Things quickly got steamy with a little girl on girl thumbwrestling. Hott. With two T's.

Once again the Bones hit up the concert scene, this time with Stone, Woodford and Friesen in tow. Friesen was ready to rock!

At the end of Evergreen Terrace's set there was a monstrous hardcore pit. More like ginormous.

I guess this band was playing or something too...

Stone and my brother somehow ended up wearing the same shirt today, but they looked like badasses doing it.

That's about it. I know this is a schedule blog and I'm sorry. It's a safe bet that there won't be many more, I blame this one on the initial excitement of using my digital camera...if the number of awful blogs increases I give Erik permission to boot me.

Over and out.

i saw your life flash before my eyes

The official first day of summer was today, considering I had my diploma in hand. Woot. The real fun will start next Thursday when Bone 2.0 and the other non-graduates will be out.

This summer is going to be memorable so I figured I needed something to help me remember these last three non-college months so I bought a digital camera with some graduation money. It's pretty cool and you can be sure that I'll be toting it around to most everything.

Jeff MC and I joined the cool club (founded of course by Joel) this week, shaving things that aren't our faces. MC insisted on photos...

More could be written, but what could follow those pictures?

make it short and sweet

I won't give you up,
I haven't even started
To rock this world,
We will make it through this.
- The Pits, Get in the Car

Wow. The Pits were sweet. I only wish that the CD could capture the pure energy the band had live. Dead Poetic was terribly disappointing but The Pits made the show worth much more than the 12 bucks I paid to get in.

I can't go the MCS/Thrice/GUK/Dashboard concert mentioned in the last blog, the track banquet is supposed to be that night or something. If someone wants to donate an airplane or something so I can make it to both events I'll be waiting but not holding my breath. In the meantime I'll be planning to try and catch the Minneapolis show. Probably won't work out...dang.

I've got a new goal: I want to give up swearing completely. I'm doing my best and catching myself when I'm about to let loose but a few have slipped. Help me out by hitting me when I screw up.

Notice the time of the publishing of this blog. Sleep has been really weird for me lately, I haven't been in bed before midnight for nearly a week. Without a doubt hell is freezing over and pigs are flying.

May 15, 2004

i'm sorry that you cried so hard

It's not even noon yet on Saturday and I'm bored already. I've been done with school for barely a day and I'm struggling to find things to occupy my time. Heck, I'm blogging to kill time...something I haven't done since last summer. Oh well.

I deleted my track pictures from the blog because they made me sad. Sorry if you liked looking at them.

Dead Poetic is playing with Names w/out Numbers tonight and I really want to go. I think Bone 2.0 is rolling, but I'd like to go with a larger crew...no luck so far though. On another concert note, Boobs and I are going to see Motion City Soundtrack, Thrice and the Get-Up Kids and (ugh) Dashboard Confessional in Des Moines a week from Tuesday. Still have room for one or two more people if interested. It's an early show so we'll be back by 11 or midnight.

New song up by Static Lullaby, I put it up out of the sheer boredom mentioned above. I used to not like it, but then it grew on me (I'm expecting some sort of sexual joke in the comments about things growing).

May 14, 2004

now the time is right

Never again shall I set foot in Westside as a student...a surreal feeling if nothing else. Checkout went cool, I was the second senior checked out, so that's kind of an accomplishment.

I need something to do with all my free time. I'm not really running for another two weeks which is OK. I had a 20 hour period where I was totally emo because of running stuff but I'm pretty sure it's over now. Thank you to those who left kind comments in the last blog. You guys are awesome.

American Love by Haste the Day, pretty sweet hardcore song. If you aren't a fan of hardcore fast forward to the 2:19 mark and absolutely sweet singing takes place and totally defies the previous two minutes of the song. Trust me...and Bone 2.0 (who hooked me up with this tune), it's cool.

May 13, 2004

shih...i dunno

Districts went terrible. Actually it went great, our district was just awful. I PRed with something like a 1:57.9...possibly the eighth or ninth fastest time out of all the districts and ended up fifth in our district. And top four qualify. So that blows. And I'm moping. And a bunch of people slower than me will be running at state. And the last three sentences started with "and."

I made fun of people that cried about show choir, but I just realized I'm crying about track. Damnit.

May 10, 2004

so cinematic

This stuff is great for sore legs and pretty much any part of your body. I found out today it's not great for gonads. There's some interesting tingling followed by about 5-10 minutes of intense, intense burning.

New music update by the end of tonight or tomorrow morning.

May 6, 2004

sound it off

An incredibly funny story happened to me today and I feel like I need to share it with people.

We're running along on our Regency run today and about 2 miles in I have the sudden urge to have to take a dook. I shrug it off thinking I can make it the last 2 miles until we get back. Half a mile later, I realize I won't be able to make it, so I sprint ahead hoping to make it to the Sinclair gas station in time. Thirty seconds more and I realize this just isn't going to work out, I cease running and crouch down and take a huge dump on Regency Parkway. In a matter of ten seconds it's all over, I use a pinecone to get rid of remnants and run to the Sinclair station to finish my business.

One more assignment for Biochemistry and then my serious homework is over and done with for high school. Beautiful in a bittersweet way.

May 4, 2004

didn't think we'd ever make it

Two reasons I can graduate now:

1) I rocked the Senior Project presentation board today. Instead of asking informational questions, the surprisingly cool panel asked me "Can I Be Your Friend?" type of questions...a good sign.

2) I ran a 1:58.33 in the 800 this evening at the Metro Track Invite...getting me sixth. Probably the biggest accomplishment of my running career thus far. I'm so pumped.

(Inserting track picture here at later date/time)

May 1, 2004

it doesn't look good to me

I feel obligated to blog since it's been a week since I last wrote.

Graduation is right on track, I corrected my 55 percent in Brit Lit and the next 6 school days or whatever is left should be easy cruising. It still bothers the hell outta me that life as I've known it for the last four years will be non-existent. Oh well, summer will cheer me.

Track meet went alright yesterday. Our 4x800 relay took first, we were sitting in fourth and I rocked us to gold medal glory. I'm still unable to cross the 2:00 mark though, as I went 2:00.40 and 2:00.02 in both the 4x800 and the open 800. Metros are on Tuesday and that should be a good race for times.

New music...Piebald and Mates of State. Woot woot.
