what's that you say?

What I'm Listening To: Grasshopper Takeoever - In A Box. I like this song a lot, but have a hard time remembering the words.

Sioux Falls at its finest...I think it's a funny picture. Isn't it?

Thanksgiving was fun. Not a lot of fun. Not boring. Just fun. I got to see the family and whatnot. I came to the sad, yet somehow exciting realization that it was my last Thanksgiving as a highschooler.

The Bone Christmas tree shall rise in all of its glory tomorrow. You can bet that I'm excited about it. Two boxes of fun ornaments and a string of lights so tangled it'll take an hour to fix.

Congratulations to Steve Pederson for doing a terrible job in firing Frank Solich who really didn't deserve to get fired the way he did.

If I were a monster, I would be the Rock-Ness Monster.

timid like a clouding sky

Unexpectedly I found myself at the GTO show at Sokol w/ Lakin. I got their new CD, it's a very good and should find itself in my music rotation here for the next few weeks. Pomeroy was playing, and I had never seen them live before. They are ultra-good, if you dig the 311/whiteboy rap sorta thing.

I'm out of town Thursday, Friday and part of Saturday. Drop me a line while I'm gone: bryant10185@cox.net.

i'm sick for writing this

WARNING! POTTY TALK TO FOLLOW! My brother and I accomplished the same amazing feat this evening. We both clogged our toilets going number two before using toilet paper. It caused my mother to exclaim, "Sweet lord in heaven!"

Kingsley and I rang bells for the Salvation Army. We were the best ringers ever, considering we got 21 donations in 15 minutes with our show choir singing and dancing skills which allowed us to turn ourselves into human jukeboxes.

There is a Thanksgiving Feast tomorrow at China Buffet at 3:30.

I found another college I'm considering applying to. It's Elmhurst in Chicago. They're UCC affiliated, like my church and have some real strong programs. And their track team is mediocre, so I'm gonna see what I can do on the athletic side of things. Something more for me to ponder.

where i cast all the fault

The title of the blog is pulled from a Funeral for a Friend song. If I wanted, I think I could pull a lyric from a song to fit any of my moods or blog subjects.

I am going to be something that I hate. A whiner. Whining isn't so bad actually, but I'm a follower of Jeff's "you signed up for it, stop complaining" mantra. But anyways...

I'm really tired, sore, and I've got to write this crap for French. All of those things could've been avoided. But they weren't. The tiredness and soreness came from the concert last night which rocked my socks like they haven't been rocked in quite some time. The French? I signed up for the class and procrastinated on the homework. Also my fault. Whatever, I recognize my faults...I'm complaining.

My goal is right on track...I've been in every issue of the Lance so far.

wo-oh

The STL boys rocked it so hard. And now I'm dead. Yes, they did play In the Shadows.

fall into the night unscarred

What I'm Listening To: Story of the Year - In The Shadows. This song better be on the setlist tonight.

I went and ran in Des Moines on Saturday. The race was awesome overall, I finished 218 out of over 4000 people, so that's respectable. The weather was hella-cold though and I spent a lot of time outside, I'll be lucky if I don't get sick.

Last night I watched Slamball for the first time ever. It was the championship game, and I was interested for the first 5 minutes and then it just got old. I also noticed that the people that play Slamball are the worst normal basketball players ever, throwing up airballs when they aren't jumping off of the trampolines.

Thanksgiving is this week. What is everyone doing for the holiday?

drinkin' lincoln

Following in Drew's footsteps...some dude just called from UNL to let me know I was accepted. I'm so relieved! Ha.

November 19, 2003

it's time for a high-five

What I'm Listening To: Motion City Soundtrack - Perfect Teeth. The Motion City Soundtrack CD rocks. It's all I've listened to the last couple of days. Plus this song title reminds me of J-Fizzo's perfect teeth since he just got his braces off.

Has anyone else been to Planet X? I went there today w/ Koch to play spaceball mod 10/11 and the place wasn't that impressive. The spaceball did rock though...I ended up finishing with a 3-2 record. As if you cared.

4 days until SOTY.

I got a new computer printer which is kinda interesting. And I'm thinking about buying an I-Pod. Should I?

November 18, 2003

and i'm off to save the world

What I'm Listening To: Woodford burned me Motion City Soundtrack's CD, I Am The Movie this weekend. It rocks. Motion City Soundtrack - Capital H.

Last night...was...awesome. Berkshire was out in Northwest O dumping a bunch of leaves he raked for his lawn business, but didn't bother to think about the fact he was driving a minivan and the mud around the dumping site was 6 inches deep. So he called me up, "Bone, I'm stuck...you wanna come pull me out?" So I hopped into Papa Bone's SUV, and rescued him in the pouring rain and booming thunder. I wish I would've had a camera, it could have been my next photo-adventure.

It was ice cream day in Chem yesterday. I had the privilege of going in and reminiscing while Jeff MC and I made some top-notch ice cream. I'm not sure that Biga recognized me...I've got a Clark Kent theory as to why he didn't.

For those of you that were curious in the last blog, I go to Countryside Community Church right next to Westside High.

November 17, 2003

something to talk about

We had a discussion at church tonight about homosexuality. It didn't cause as big an uproar as I thought it would...but I guess my church is pretty liberal and I'm down with that. Anyways, I think a lot of people were surprised to hear that our Minister of Music is gay. I've known since he was hired nearly two years ago, but I guess some people were completely in the dark. He was very well recieved though, which is awesome because he's a cool dude and people shouldn't stupid shat like that doesn't make you any less of a Christian or any less of a person.

November 15, 2003

as the sun sets on battlefields

What I'm Listening To: Funeral for a Friend - Bend Your Arms to Look Like Wings. This is my favorite song of the last two weeks.

Mmmm...I ate five steak sandwiches at the game today. Huskers lost, in case you didn't know. I won my bet with Woodford so now he's got to buy my ticket to the Story of the Year show next Sunday.

There's a Chinese restaurant I drove by tonight that I haven't been to. It's at 120th and Pacific, but I can't remember the name. I'm hoping that we can hit it up on Wednesday.

Boobs McLearch is sick.

November 14, 2003

calm your hair

What I'm Listening To: The Flaming Lips - Buggin'. J-Fizzo introduced me to this band...they're mondo-talented but also mondo-weird.

So college stuff is moving slowly along. I just finished one of my applications and submitted it. Now I did Johnny Graff to finish up my recomendation so that I can finish other apps and scholarship stuff. He's kind of been a deadbeat about it considering that I asked him to write it two months ago. Eh...as long as he gets it done.

K-State game tomorrow, I'm headed to Lincoln. Should be a marvelous time, except for the whole Nebraska will probably lose thing...

November 11, 2003

i can see the headlights

Got my ACT scores this morning. I jumped 4 solid points from my previous score, so I'm incredibly happy. SAT scores are released on Friday...we'll see how that one went.

I ate 5 bowls of Rice Krispies for lunch. How awesome is that?

Show choir from 3:30-9:30. Good lord.

November 9, 2003

the wind began to howl

I defeated Composition today. I won the battle, hopefully the war will be mine as well.

Show Choir hell begins again this week. Our choreographer is back in town and that means no fun for the Bone-Man. Damn.

My blogs are shitty as of late...no need to inform me, I'm aware. If other activities in my life stop sucking and give me back more of my personal time, I'll increase the quality ten-fold.

November 8, 2003

no reason to get excited

What I'm Listening To: Dave Matthews Band - All Along the Watchtower. I've seen Bob Dylan do this live and Dave shows him up with this version. It gets real sweet about 3.5 minutes in...

After volleyball yesterday, I went to the XXX Barn to pick Skipper up a video. This was the most disgusting place I've ever seen. While in there I heard sounds that sounded like faint clapping, but I'm pretty sure that two hands were not involved in what I heard.

I want to create another photo-adventure on the internet. Ideas for what it should be?

November 7, 2003

being wrong never felt so right

What I'm Listening To: New Found Glory - Sucker. An awesome song, click the link and download it.

Volleyball districts are today. The whole crew is taking a trip up to Lincoln to cheer the team on. You should come if you can...we leave mod 13.

Cabaret night on Sunday, another event you should attend. ATSC will be rocking it, and so will a few solos. Other than that, I can't promise greatness but I am sure that you'll be entertained.

No class after 10:20 today. Beautiful.

November 5, 2003

je me perds si je reste là

I completely blew off the rehearsal for Cabaret. Hopefully Deter doesn't kick me out of the group. I had some other stuff going on after school and it slipped my mind. Whoops.

Alright, got the official word today. My race is on December 6 @ 10 am. Who will come? All of you of course! Entry forms will be posted on the web later tonight.

My inductive paper didn't come back as terrible as I hoped, and I rejoiced. The deductive looks to be much easier than the inductive.

November 4, 2003

more than meets the eye

What I'm Listening To: Transformers Theme.

For my senior project I'm having a cross country race @ Walnut Grove on Dec. 6th. Yes it will be cold, but it's a short 20 minute race. I seriously need runners to come though. Please, anyone who isn't incapable of running...sign up. It's only five bucks and I'll have forms by the end of the week. Please.

November 3, 2003

i recall that i'm yours

What I'm Listening To: Five Iron Frenzy - Me Oh My.

I can't believe it's November already. This year has gone by pretty quick. Thanksgiving is only a couple of weeks away and Christmas isn't too far behind.

I popcorned Megan's house on Saturday.

The musical was crazy good, I hope everyone went and saw it. Mike Classen and Kingsley represented PFC well.

Running starts today. I haven't run in two and a half weeks, but training has gotta start sometime...

November 1, 2003

made of silver, not of clay

What I'm Listening To: Journey - Wheel in the Sky (Live 2001). I've seen this band live three times, and Neal Schon can shred guitar.

Took the SAT today. I figured it was gonna be terrible, but I ended up getting to sit next to Jeff Sisson and partied between sections with Vallejo and Sutherland. I do have to comment on one woman who was proctoring the exam. She had nostrils the size of nickels and one bad haircut. So weird.

Nebraska lost to Texas. I called it last week.
