The Hold Steady played Sokol Underground last Sunday. Go see this band if they're anywhere close, just incredible. Most people at the show were giving the band rave reviews out loud, and while some of it may have been the PBR talking, as one of the few sober people at the show, I can attest to their excellence. Craig Finn's happiness infected the crowd, Tad Kubler melted faces with well-placed, delicious guitar solos and Franz Nicolay rocked out with his waxed mustache.

Memorial Day weekend coming up, and as a salaried employee, I'm enjoying my first of two paid holidays this summer.
