infinity on high

I kind of hate to say it, but the new Fall Out Boy CD has been rocking my world lately. It hit the internet a few weeks ago and finally hits stores tomorrow and I'm going to be first in line to pick it up. I've been a fan since Take This To Your Grave, and was terribly disappointed at the end of my freshman year of college with From Under The Cork Tree. The album had a few good songs, but lacked the musical and lyrical tenacity of TTTYG (plus I HATED Sugar We're Goin' Down). Anyway, they're playing the Mid-America Center in Council Bluffs in mid-May and I fully intend on going, despite them playing in an arena. It'll be interesting to see a band I remember playing to a few hundred at club shows rock an arena.

Who has heard of this Barack Obama character? He's the flavor of the week for the democratic presidential nomination, and David Lopez, a friend of mine has convinced me to read his book, The Audacity of Hope. I've only read a few chapters, but I encourage everyone to read his first chapter entitled Republicans and Democrats. It's a rousing call to stop the partisan hackery that has become all too common in politics lately. I'm not sure he's earned my support in the upcoming election quite yet, but he's definitely got me listening.

Don't be ashamed of the music you like if its rock. I agree with pretty much everything you said so far about tttyg and utct, Song #1 on both cd's are my favorites. I saw FOB play when they last played there, and they were pretty good, but the venue takes some life out of it.

I think the magic Luleelurah is the best YouTube invention of 2006.

I definitely loled the first time I saw the Luleelurah...it's like a Dr. Seuss creation.

I'm liking the new CD too.

Barack has got me listening as well. He almost seems too good to be true, but I guess we'll find out as time goes on.

yes, barrack does seem too good to be true.

that's why i think he might be the antichrist. or maybe that was my mom. or brother. needless to say, he kind of scares me.

I agree on the Barack thing. He seems to be different than the typical politician. He's gonna be in Ames Sunday, so I'm gonna check that out...Hopefully find some more out about him.
