from the tangles of my heart

Another track meet tomorrow. Ugh. I get nervous for these things like no other and so I really don't want to go. To make matters worse it's going to be eighty degrees and pretty windy, which isn't the best distance running weather. Eh, I'll survive.

The whole NHS shindig was today. Essentially it's an excuse for anyone who cares enough to get mediocre grades to dress up. If you saw some of the NHS crew this year, it's easy to see we're not dealing with Mensa. Then again I've always been a fan of applied intelligence rather than applied ass-kissing.

On a similar note, Nancy Knapp was the featured speaker at the NHS induction ceremony. Nice woman, don't get me wrong, but when she started speaking about character all I could hear was "copy machine."

Battle of the Sexes is tomorrow night. I wish I could go, but I can't. You should go in my place.
